(sry for pic quality)
hook: Mustad size 14 dry fly hook
thread:white
wings: calf hair-stacked ( i didn't have any calf hair so i used carabou)
tail: moose body hair
body: peacock herl, red thread or floss (again i was lacking so i used pink), then peackock herl
hackle: brown saddle hen
instructions:
1. tie in tying thread behind hook eye
2. move a little back and tie in your stacked hair
3. separate hair into two separate areas and use a "figure-8 wrap style to separate the posts. then build up thread in front to raise them
4.wrap thread back to bend of hook tie in moose hair for tail: make it about the length of hook shank
5 tie in single strand of peacock herl- wrap aproxamately 1/4 of hook shank and tie off but do not clip off excess
6. hold peacock herl out straight and usethread to wrap completely over the herl. stop after another 1/4 of hook shank and leave herl
7. wrap white thread back to where you tied of herl first
8. here: tie in your red thread or floss and wrap it back toward hook eye to where the white thread stops (make sure to completely cover white thread) tie off and clip excess
9. with remaining peacock herl wrap towards wing posts until you hit them. tie off there and clip excess
10. tie in brown hackle and wrap once behind wings and then wrap back around the wings and do a couple more wraps of hackle. tie off and clip excess
11. build up a head and head cement
there your done
happy tying
