That was awesome! Nothing I like more than seeing cane bend! And for anyone out there that thinks bamboo rods can't handle big fish, I hope this puts that little myth to rest.

PS: my favorite was the last line on the video: "don't worry about it, we'll edit that out". LOL :)

Bill, first thing I did when i saw the video was call my dad up and give him a hard time about losing some of those fish!!!!! I think ya sold him :-)!!!!!!!

Great demo on the bamboo! Beautiful fish, it was fun watching them jump. What was the song and artist on the soundtrack? I've "watched" it 5 times today just for the song.

Rich, we had a great time with your Dad and a 50% net rate is not too bad for those fish!

everybody, it was a great morning and there was some serious bamboo bending going on. The first rod was a 7'6" 5wt. and the second half of the video he's using an 8' 5wt. No problems with any of those brutes. Rich Sr. said he had never done anything like that with bamboo, which is just the sort of experience I was hoping for!

the hatchery stocked some trout like tis last year, i caught a few of these 18 to about 22 inches, i was gettin really concerned about my ironfeather an t3 strenth, an my little spinnin rod too, you get a 4 pound or so fish in that current, an look out, and forget about your regular net, hahaha, what a blast, i hope that put more in like this this year, 2007 was the best year for the most huge trout, but like in the video, they are stockers , sure its a blast, but catch the wild browns on a 24 midge an 7x, now thats real fly fishin.
