had a thought about the action soft hackles have...so i decided to try and recreate an oldie but a goodie...build a better mouse trap of sorts...
INGREDIENTS -- -- -- -- -- --
Size 12 Dry Fly Hook
Speckle Brown Indian Saddle -- Hackle
Olive Marabou -- Tail
Flat Mylar Tinsel or lead -- underbody(weight)
Olive Rabbit Fur -- Body
Olive Thread
---------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS -- -- -- -- -- --
Start thread, then tie in your tinsel lead and wrap to the back near bend of hook, next tie in your marabou tail, then very light on the olive fur...
--here's the trick...tie in one soft hackle thread one wrap then tie off and trim...now and a little more fur very thin and do another soft hackle one wrap then tie and trim...all the way to the front of the hook..make a head and cement...
---------------------------
In theory the soft hackle and marabou head should give this fly incredible action under water...hopefully ill hit the water soon and be able to give an update...but if you tie one and get there before i do...let me know...
