I am new to this board and would love some help regarding Dukes. A friend of mine will be up there at 7:30 Sunday morning and given the recent rain/snow, hopefully the conditions will help the fishing. I have only been there once and we fished section 1 upstream about half the way and had very little luck. I have been told to get dropped off at section three and fish downstream. We have about 8 hours to fish, so if any of you are going to be there or have any recommendations for which sections to cover in that 8 hour span and how to do so effectively, i would really appreciate it.
I plan on using small nymphs (18-22) WD40, small pheasant tail, etc. I plan to use a 9ft leader and a 12inch dropper. Any recommendations on flies would be helpful as well. thanks
If any of you are going, we will be the two guys driving the toyota FJ.

Go to a hole and work the heck out of it. Go deep, use small, have a down stream aproach. and dead drift.

I would think the massive cold front will shut down the fish somewhat. In my experience the initial front puts them down due to the low pressure but after a couple days they get used to it. Duke's Creek and I have a love/hate relationship. It's a tough place to fish and the trout are smarter than your run of the mill fish. They are tougher than your average native trophy. They have seen everything you will offer them. Just be as stealth as you can. Presentation is everything. Just take your time, dont rush into anything. If they see you its pretty much over.
I have more luck with a 18" dropper than a 12". Use nothing bigger than 6x(I recommend fluorocarbon, its strong stuff) unless the water is murky. Dont use anything with too much flash. Shiny beadheads are a no go.
I may actually see you up there. Im just waiting for someone to cancel. I drive a silver civic sedan.
If I dont see you,
Good Luck

I am planning on coming, the only thing that will stop me is the road conditions. I am coming from Athens so there are alot of back roads that wont get much attention if it freezes hard.
