is the rain tonight going to mud up the creeks to bad for a friday afternoon trip...thought about either the Amicalola DH, or somewhere else close by.
what ya think?

It's a bit early, but if the forecast is right the Ami is probably going to be blown out.

Check this link in the morning and if it looks like it did a couple days ago, forget it.

The Toccoa tailwater from the dam to Hemptown will be stained, but it'll probably be some of the most accessible, clearest water, other than the upper ends of all the "unspoken smalls streams."

i think ive decided to go to one of my "unspoken" streams up high.

I live about 15 miles from the Ami and from the rain we got all night last night I was going to say it will be mud.

Taking a look at that gauge GAtorbyte provided, definitely mud.

BTW: Driving into work this morning Big Creek at Hwy 9 was overflowing it's banks. I feel for you DH guys but we really needed this.

January was almost normal for rain fall and February is starting out pretty well.

Thanks for the report...i wish i could have gone fishing today...but im glad for the rain. Theres always next week.

this dont happen at the dam, buford that is, god midge, and little black stonefly hatces now, off an on. i meant good midge hatches, i guess im gonna have to watch even the decaff coffee, my fingers runnin away from my mind

yea good thing you didnt go to ami. it was slow, muddy, and high. i caught one the whole day. it was really hard to wade because it was high and dirty. i wish i would have seen this thread before i decided to go yesterday.
