I bought this toon used and just couldn't leave well enought alone and made a few mods by adding a new seat, a seat swivel, a seat platform, "coke" cooler and anchor. By adding the Swivel seat now when I crash it into a blown down tree in the river I can just spin around and keep fishin' and worry about getting out later. I just have to add my "Surrender The Booty" Pirate flag and I'll be set. I call her the Toccoa Tailchaser.

That seat is really a great idea.. I have several questions. How high or elevated is the seat from the top of the pontoons? Where did you purchase and might I ask how much the seat cost?

With the seat slightly elevated like that is seems like you could place maybe a fiberglass pan that drops maybe six or so inches where your feet dangle so you could stand when fishing on quiet water. Is that feasible?

Thanks

Jeff

Have you tried to row it yet? I tried the same seat riser with a swivel seat and found my knees in the way when rowing when the foot pegs were in the most extended position that I could still reach.
Good lookin 'toon, like the color. You'll find something to change/improve every time you use it. Half the fun of owning one!

Think about putting a line between the bows so you can just stand up and fish shallow water without losing the boat.

Never saw a need for a swivel seat in 15 years of floating. I always figured with a kick of the fin or a stroke of the oar the whole boat swivels. Besides, at my age I try to keep things as light as possible for hauling the thing on and off of the roof of my Jeep.

Jackster;
I keep mine on a teather attached to my wading belt.
The swivel seat is so this old body of mine can get to the cooler on the rear deck easier. When you reach that age you'll know what I mean!! Whippersnapers, we just have to put up with them I guess!? See ya in July on the Au Sable Jack.:cheers:
