Does any one have any info on stamps now. It should have been stocked by now but wanted to know if it in deed has.

The thing is the fish don't get a chance to spread out from the stocking points. I went last week and caught 6 or so right below the first bridge. It was a tuesday in the afternoon and I still was not alone. I would suggest fishing on an overcast weekday if you can. When the sun would come out from behind the clouds the fish would temporarily scatter if you made a cast. I started out using standard junk food but the fish seemed more interested in natural flies like soft hackles.

I haven't fished there since last summer, but I noticed that the trout just really don't seem to spread out much from the stocking points, even long after they've been stocked. You can usually catch a lot of them though. I took my wife there last summer on her 2nd attempt at flyfishing. She caught 8 on a WB. From what I've seen, the real neat thing about Stamp is there are quite a few mountain redeye bass, and some beautiful pumpkinseed bream. The bass aren't big, but they're a lot of fun on a 3wt!
I fished stamp several times last summer before the drought got so bad and always caught at least 2 or 3 decent rainbows. The thing I notticed is that the bait fisherman get them before they really get acclimated and spread out or find good hiding spots and learn to fend for them selves.:indif: It seems to be such a small stream for so much pressure, much like Johns creek to the north. Just my 2 coppers:cheers:

Right on Lost Arkansan, the redeye might be the best thing about stamp. I want to fish the lower section this summer for redeyes. They are my favorite bass.
