As a matter of ceremony, I made the drive from my house, 20 some miles to Cooper Creek this morning. Opening day, after the rain on the real opening day. Lots of people in the typical sections, but up or downstream from them, the people got thinner. I caught 6 fish in about 2 hours, all bows, between 9-12". All of them looked like stockers and fell to Y2k or olive wb. Started to get hungry and drove home, feeling like I'd had the "Shoulder to shlouder, openin' day experience." I can go back to the more remote locations now. The weather this weekend foiled what was to be a two day trip into the Jacks, ohhh well, I'll get in there for a few days in the next month. How did everybody else do opening weekend?

Didn't fish this weekend, but my girlfriend and I did spend two days in the cohutta's on the connie mid week. Fished for about 6 hours total around and above bray's field and caught one pretty little 9 inch rainbow. I hooked into one that was 10"+ for a few seconds before he got off. Looked like a brown though the rough surface. Hope you get to make it to the Jacks in the next few weeks- it'll be prime time pretty soon. Good luck

Brice, congrats on the fish! Any fish caught from Jacks or the Connie are great fish! Nothing like fooling a wild one!
