I had a desire to stand and fish from the rower's position.
Started with a Star Wonderbug and a piece of ply...

Ended up with this version, which gave me a yogi seated position, no bueno. I needed to drop the floor. It was slick, but not practical.

I dropped the deck and ended up with this version. Dropping the floor was great for the angle between my thigh and torso..

This has a richard wheatley fly box modded with foam insert permanently screwed to the deck to stash flies and shot on the run .......Obviously I had to have a Maltholder................

Kicking the cleat up makes for easier handling of the anchor rope and dropping anchor as your buddy dumps his entire rig into a sweeper..........

Cobra oarlocks after two of the other bronze units scored then cracked on the Hi.

Most effective mod was a brother on the oars, here seen recuperating from a hot day of bending the sticks at the "cabins" on the Hi. Later we took a bunch of bows as it started to get dark... on 18 BWO emergers. A good day.

Well, that is what I have for now. I know there are guys with boats out there, show us some of your tweaks.

Paul,

Can you tell me where you got that raft set up. I have been interested in those for some time now and just curious where you got that one??

Thanks,
Brian:cheers:

Hey Brian

Eugene Schuler on SEFF is a Star representative. This is a Star Wonderbug. You get a great deal if you go through him. There are 2 versions, one is 200 denier, the other 400 denier. I got the heavier version, but in retrospect, the 200 would have been better as it is a lot lighter. It is plenty tough too, as Schuler guides out of them, and they are on occasion winched from the river, as some sections he fishes are access limited ramp wise. It is a pvc boat, but for the money and as tough as it is, you can't beat it. Hypalon boats or Aire boats with an internal bladder are highly regarded, but seriously costly........ hampering acquisition and therefore fishing time, a conspiracy I am sure.:) I had my whole set up for under the price of a bare Aire super puma (not even a paddle with that!). I went around and around before I pulled the trigger too!!

Cheers

Paul
