Does anyone have or use a Pelican sit on top? I plan on buying one next week and other than the paddle needing to be replaced for a better one I haven't heard much about them one way or the other. The rod holders are useless for a fly rod but that can be fixed. It's hard to get any of you other scallywags who got a toon to go use them so I'm getting something I can paddle back up river.

I have that same kayak and I would recommend not buying it for a number of reasons. Save your money for something better.
- It is a very uncomfortable kayak to fly fish in, too wobbly to stand on.
- The hatch in the front does not seal at all, is a pain to reach, and has no bottom.
- The little hatch behind the seat is useless as well as it also has no bottom and is tough to unscrew.
- The seat is pretty uncomfortable, a padded seat is needed.
- The paddle is crap, an upgrade is needed.
- You will always be wet unless you plug the scupper holes (not necessarily a complaint, just needs to be pointed out)
With all that being said, it does get the job done, and I do not regret buying it. It puts me on redfish that no boat can access. I'd save your money for something more stable though, especially if you plan to fly fish from it. I plan on upgrading pretty soon.

Tracy,
The Georgia River Fishing guys are kayak junkies. [In a good way!]
This is in their FAQ Forum:

Kayaks & canoes are all compromise vehicles. Weight, length, initial stability, speed, manouverability, comfort, capacity. They all will float you, but some may suit your purposes much better than others.
