Finally got my new rod finished. I made it based on a PY Midge taper. Many thanks to Robert Hicks for the instructions, use of tools and facilities and walking me through several problems.

I used a light olive agate stripper from Golden Witch and made the guides from wire. Finished in light olive tipped in black. This little blue line special really sings with a DT Sylk 4wt. I've got a Pflueger Supreme reel that I use on my Tonka Prince that works like a champ. Now if I can find the time and gas money to head up past the foot of the hills and find some 3B's (bows, browns, brookies) that want to play for an afternoon.

Thanks guys....I'm really looking forward to baptizing this little stick soon. I already have a 4wt reel and line but would like to try a 3DT just to see how it loads, so if and when I get to go fishing again, I may want to hook up with someone and try a 3wt.
Rodmaking is something I really want to get into. I'm going to be gathering tools and equipment for a while and then make another. So if any of you get a lead on forms or tools let me know. I'll be selling my Tonka Prince to help finance this newest obsession. If you're interested, gimme a shout.
I already have the ferrules for a 8040 Granger, 8ft 3pc for a 5wt. This is going to be my next build.

Uh oh! You've had it now! Great job on the rod. Really feels good to finish, doesn't it? We need to have another bamboo get together. There are several guys that have some newly constructed boo to show off.

Nice job Bill. It was a pleasure to have you over making noise in the shop. When you get ready to start that 8040 let me know...you are welcome anytime. BTW, the wife is getting me a few new toys for my birthday...just waiting for the check from the gov. I'll be able to make ferrules with it...and reelseats...and...and anything that I can think of. ;)

Anywho, nice looking rod bud. I'm proud to say I had a little bit of a hand in it. Looks a hell of a lot better than my first! I'm about to start that 6'3" 3/2 4wt. Talk about a pack rod ;)
