3) Trout Reports- Time to switch to summer tactics:
It's time to head to higher elevations in Georgia and North Carolina or to cold tailwaters (Hooch, Toccoa) as the summer heat now warms our larger trout waters. Get your thermometer out and find colder water for active fish. Fish from dawn til noon and use shorter rods, light line, very small hooks, and stealth in the low, clear streams that are shaded well.
Remember your Doppler radar and follow the thunderstorms to easier catching in the higher flows of stained, cooler water.
You can also do some homework and and plan a summer trip out West.

June's also a great time to switch channels to other species: bream, carp, and bass (shoals, redeye, spots, and largemouth) in the waters below our larger trout streams or in your favorite ponds. It's prime time for float trips and wet wading! Big bream tips here:

Dredger found 69F water temperature at Chattooga's Burrells Ford Bridge last Saturday at 6 PM. He caught 6 rainbows and 2 browns from 6 to 9 PM, but the "dark-thirty" insect hatches of late spring were pretty much over. The fishing was still fun, but the catching wasn't nearly as good as it was a week or two earlier.
[Landon's Hooch tailwater report was included, too, but it's filed in the Hooch forum! ... Don]
There will also be Kids Day atr Bass Pro Shop from 11-4 PM on this Saturday June 7th.
