What do y'all think about having a little photo contest of sorts? I was thinking of 2 categories to start. Point and Shoot and SLR. And no "photoshop" enhancements such as adding images. Color, saturation, sharpness adjustment, etc. would be ok.
Winner gets to take the other contestants to a Top Secret Brookie Stream. :D

I like the idea! Except how are we going to take the potential dozens of contestants to a brookie stream?
How about an old schooler on here donates a stream location to the winner? Or entry fee is five flies and the winner takes all?
Cool idea should be fun.

 How you think of this photo contest the week before you will be going to Utah for some fishing opportunities ;)
Do they have to be new photos (from this date forward) or can they also be photos you have taken in the past ?

And photos from where? Shall we limit the contest to North Georgia? World-wide? Bordering states?
I'd favor a deadline - photos have to be taken from XXXX, 2008 to YYYY, 2008. And that first XXXX could be starting today.

All good ideas. Definitely have to be new photo's and just to be fair, all photo's must be taken in Northern Utah between 6/29/08 and 7/5/08. ::ke:

So when do we start snapping those pics :)
We could do like the weekly fly tie off and have a suggested topic category ( close up, casting, what's in your net?, stream pics, wild trout, warm water, etc....) and another category for anything goes.

I have to throw a flag on this!
Bret is heading off to a scenic place and Tracy is an Art Teacher. ::ke:
I have a hard enough time keeping the fish in the view finder of the camera. :indif:
Oh well!

I like the topic idea too. I think monthly may be cool.

But slowstreamer is just a trout bum and lately he's been getting some amazing shots.

Might be easier to have it on a monthly bases. It would give folks more time to get out and snap a few pics of their fish or other stuff. Not all of us live within 20 min of their fish'n holes.

Yeah, I think this is a great idea, but like any of us have a chance against Slow Streamer and gonefishin based on some of the stuff they've posted lately. Oh well, we'll give it a shot anyway. Dawgbit a/k/a GAtorbyte- since this was your idea, you come up with the rules and guidelines. And you have to do it before you go to Utah- for obvious reasons.

What do you say we just do this starting now and have it run until the end of the month. A little extra bonus for July (since there a few days left in June). Submissions have to be in by the last day of the month and then do a poll to determine the winner the first week of the subsequent month.
As far as a theme, I'm kind of stuck on trying to tie in Independence day, so might I suggest we do "release" photos. For simplicity, should we keep it to still shots?

Cucarachafly,
as I've said before most of the photos are luck for me so it's fair game for everyone.
I just saw the picture that Musslewhite and Fishmonger posted and those are some sweet pictures. I'm no pro by any means and see it's going to be a tuff fight with all the folks on NGTO cause I think there are a lot of great photos being taken.
I'll try my best and hope the river gods are merciful....and I get to make it out on the water to wet a line sometime this month ;)
