Well its been a while since I have posted so i thought I would give you guys something to drool over. As run off is on the downside the fishing and the bugs are starting to pick up. Some of these photos are from different areas including some of my secret streams and the mighty Colorado River.

The night that me and my buddies got to the boat launch we were walking around talking with other people and we were informed that the day before a guy went the wrong way around "needles eye" and lost his life (GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY). This is one of the best days I have had on the river, we landed about 15-20 fish each and most being 14in and bigger.

Colorado,

I will be San Juan and Durango bound next week. Hoping the runoff is just a little more on its way out. Hearing rumors that the Salmonflies are starting to show.

I am heading out Wednesday for 2 weeks in paradise. What do you hear from the Western slope?

I am taking the family so I don't know how much time I will have to fish but I will make time. Just need to make the most of it.

By the way, great pics!

Fellas,

The sailboats are coming off on the Gunny and the West slope is still really high water but i just got word of the PMDs coming off on the Colorado and Im gonna try to get over there and check it out in the next couple of days.

Unless your fishing the boat hatch(salmonflies) I would either hit some small streams and pick off the fish in the back eddys or chuck and duck on the big water with big nasty stuff. I have been fishing size 8 girdle bugs but Im still taking fish in the other 2 flies in size 18-20.On that float we watched some fish move 5 and 6 feet to eat these big nasty flies.

If you are fishing the west slope I would contact http://www.mohenrys.com/ these guys will steer you in the right direction. If you get over to the east side (estes park) come into Kirks Fly Shop http://www.kirksflyshop.com/. I guide out of Kirks and they are great people and will be happy to help in any way they can.

Fly shops out here arent like back home where you ask whats up with the fishing and they tell you the same BS PTs,Hares Ear etc.

Let me know if I can help!!!!!
