Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Made it down to Costa Rica on a guys trip last weekend. My first time there very beautiful, great food, good beer. Flew into Liberia, which was a trip. Customs took about 5 seconds in the hangar next to where the plane landed.

Now onto the fishing. It was a full moon which apparantly is bad for fishing, but managed to get this Wahoo on a jerk bait. Landed him after about 20 minutes, no belt, no fighting chair, and I almost got ripped into the water. We cleaned and ate him right after the photo, but we all agree he was right under 6 feet, pushing 100 pounds.

Very fun trip, despite no fly fishing.

Nice fish!! Wahoo is very tasty. Funny story, we were fishing the gulf and got into some wahoo. I remember the guides being very excited, because they were evidently quite a rare catch for the area. The first fish that we pulled into the boat bit one of the guide's toes off - OUCH! Always wear shoes.

The guide was actually missing a big toe... I wonder if it was a similar story?
