These are a few pics from recent trips. Most of these came on top. We haven't broke the 20" mark this season but we're getting quite a few up to 19.5 inches.

I've had a few window shoppers from this forum but no one has taken a trip yet. With the exception of Noah Fountain (Coach). Coach isn't used to having to cast over 40-50ft so let's just say fishing was a little tough for him. He has a never-say-die attitude that I admire, tough.

To maybe help folks with a little incentive, I've decided to offer a 10% discount on all of my full day float trips, trout or bass. Here's the catch. You have to bring along a receipt or have a certified casting instructor contact me with proof that you have had casting instruction. Those that say you don't need to be able to cast certain distances are the very ones that do.

Coach was fortunate to find a pod of bass that allowed us to get within 30-40ft of them. He was fishless up to this point.

My friend Travis is a very capable fly caster and caught fish all the way down the float. See a difference?

Its a good thing I'm on my wife's PC instead of the work machine. Drool cleans up easier on hers! Very nice bass, and I bet that golden bone was a hoot.

Those were two happy guys, and I can understand why.

Thanks, Don. ;) I'd like to see one of these trout guys hook into one for the first time. Or, see them ruin their drawers when ones chasing bait and hits their gurgler. :D

If we are a CCI do we get 20% off a trip?? HA

Actually, I'd be happy to do that, Jeff. Bring your own lunch and come on! Watching someone that knows how to fire it is the next best thing to fishing yourself. :) The cicada bite is done but this particular river is full of nice smallies.

Yeah, it was tough (sigh!). :shake: I found out that I wasn't very good at long distances. Rusty tried to help with different rod lengths, types of line etc. Also, it is one thing to cast a fly line with a piece of yarn but something else to cast a wind resistant fly to distances of 60 to 80 feet.:yikes:

Again, as I said on a previous post, Rusty makes you a better fisherman.:)

Don't be afraid to give Smallmouth fishing a try! I am glad I did.

Rusty, I am working on my double haul two to three days a week. :cross:

Noah, you are going to be amazed at how easy it is to cast those distances when you learn how. Go get some lessons from someone close to you. Kent Edmunds would be my top recommendation because of his enthusiasm about all things casting. If Callaway's too far then I recommend someone from Unicoi. Short drive to Helen from Dahlonega, as you know. John Cross or Jimmy Harris can help you out with that. I PROMISE that it will increase the fun factor!!! :)
