I have just bought the Creek Company CDC 915 pontoon boat. I am going to use it in several ways. I am going to river fish the boat by putting in at Abbott's bridge on the Hooch and motoring up and the floating back to my truck. I will also use it to fish a large electric motor only reservoir that is beside my golf course.

I was wanting some advise on what size thrust and shaft lengh to buy. I am looking at the motor guide 36 LBS thurst with a 30' shaft.

Any advise.

I am also looking for anyone who might want to float the Hooch and needs a shuttle partner.

I have the Creek Company ODC 816 with a 32# thrust Motor Guide trolling motor with 30" shaft. The 30" shaft is perfect, especialy in shallow water. The 32# thrust is more that enough to move it along smartly. 3 clicks on the forward drive is just about all I need, any more and I'm just wasting the battery.
I also purchased the optional motor mount with anchor system and rod holder. The only problem is the anchor system drops the anchor on top of the motor if the motor is not raised. I solved this by adding a pully forward of the motor mount.

Thanks Jack.

I think I will go with the 36 thrust. At least I will have the power there if I need it.
