I've been in Boise about 2 weeks now...the fishing is great...I think I might stay for a while. There is so much water here to fish that I am having a time trying to figure out which parts of which rivers are worth fishing. I have found fish in some great places, but I just wanted to show some pics of the wonderful river I fished today. After driving about 1.5 hours down dirt roads only to find that this section of the river can be accessed via paved roads...I was just glad to get my feet wet!

I fished for about 2.5 hours and got around 15 fish to hand. About 10 bows, 4 white fish (gotta love em), and 1 bass (it ran up stream, while the trout all made downstream runs). All of the trout were bows, nothing huge (I here this part of the river holds bull trout.......). Most of the fish came off of a #14 copper john. A golden stonefly and brown girdle bug also caught a few. I couldn't resist the stonefly patterns after comming up on all the rocks that are in the pictures.

Beautiful river, great fishing

Oh yea- The fishing on the Madison up near Ennis was not bad this past week either;)

Nice going. I'm envious, but I hope the fishing continues to be good!

I'm very envious. I should've never come home from my trip this year (as I sit and sweat inside my house....) :bang:. So much water, so little time.

I recommend taking a drive up the Lost River valley while you're in the area. Fish, scenery, and more dirt roads than you can shake a stick at.

Magoo,

I'll be living here for at least the next two years...but from the looks of things I might not leave for a long long while. I will definately check out the lost river valley when I get a chance. The Big lost is said to be a 10/10 fishery in February and March, but I will check it out prior to this...I assure you.

The summer days here are surely nice...but expect the great fishing to continue into the winter months when the river flows are low, the wading is great, and the fish are hungry.
