The theme is Black and White & fishing related. Should be interesting.
Same rules apply as in July. Please provide basic info with your entries such as camera info and date it was shot. All entries must have been shot during August 2008 and submitted by the last day of the month. Please title your entries so it will be easier to identify in the poll. Accented color will be permissible, but the majority of the image must be in black and white.
Remember, there will be 2 categories,
1. Point and Shoot
2. Other Formats (SLR, medium and large).
If you don't include the camera info I will enter it into the "#2 Other" category. If you choose to withdraw and entry, please do so by the last day of the month.

B&W will be interesting. Nice pictures so far, guys. I did not manage to get a pic in last month, but will surely do some fishing/photography this month. Keep those nice black and white photos coming.

Alright - Guess the BW suggestion ended up not being so popular... my bad!
Anyhow, here is my submission. It's from some stillwater on a ranch near Bozeman, MT this past June.

wait I am confused. Does the picture have to be taken in August?

Yeah David, look at you being sneaky. The pics have to be taken in August. If that weren't the case I'd kick all y'alls butts with the stuff I did under the tutelage of Jerry Uelsman. However, it is a really nice shot.

Well dang -- guess I'll have to come up with something snazzy either tomorrow at Lake Blue Ridge or Saturday at Dukes!

Very Nice David. Can you share technical data about the shot?

GB,
I don't have my camera with me right now to pull up the data, but I can tell you that it was shot using my Nikon D80 fully manual in black and white. I also shot some colors just in case I ever need them.
The photo was taken at about 9:00 a.m. under the thick canopy at Dukes. I know I had my ISO set fairly low as I wanted minimal grain and maximum sharpness -- there's just something about details in leaves that I really like seeing (obviously it shows up in the full-size photo as opposed to this low res image). Because of the low ISO, I also had my shutter speed fairly low -- say a 1/100th or maybe a 1/80th and my aperature all the way open - f/3.5 with this lens.
