I'm about a week late on this but here's a quick report on the flyfishing last week in PCB....
Sorry no pics - waiting on film development (still in the stone age I guess). As always plenty of ladyfish in the surf. On the calmer days caught them until my arm got tired on sinking line and polar fiber minnows w/ 30lb leaders (so their teeth didn't tear em up so fast). Only could catch ladyfish in the surf all week, saw a school of pompano one day but they were gone by the time my fly hit the water.
In the bay the trout fishing was GREAT near the big bridge. No luck in West Bay but a few miles from the bridge (pm me if you're going and I'll tell you exactly where) got into them very heavy and consistent in one spot - as soon as we drifted out this area the bite stopped, so we motored back in and drifted it a couple dozen times - very productive area. The bite seemed to actually get better w/ the heat of the day. Fish caught on floating line, poppers, and polar fiber in 5-6 feet of water over the deeper grass beds.
Oh yea... saw the largest tarpon I have ever seen in my life but was under-geared and it was too far away so didn't even try to chase it... probably 70-100 lbs.
