Guys... this is exactly what we need... a weak (hopefully) tropical system, that could drop a bunch of rain on us... that's the only way Lanier can get back up to normal levels (although it will take more than one of these)... i hope it stalls right over N. Ga.

Amen. Hope it stays all week. I hear they need it worse than we do up around Pisgah.

Yeah, from reading other fishing boards, the east slope streams are really low right now from NC to VA. The Tennessee side is still holding up ok though.

Looks like they moved the track a little further to the left... i gotta feeling they're gonna move Fay's track much further east... like off the Carolina coast.

Fay is starting to look good. Hopefully, we will get the western side of the storm. The eastern side of storms always has the stronger winds and more potential for the tornados. One good soaking storm isn't the end all............. but it's a start.

hopefully we'll get lots of rain. still there may be a little bellyaching because the streams are high muddy torents!

Yea Landon... this will be good as long as the (smaller) streams dont get a big acid flush... that could wipe out all trout on stream section with low buffer... all in all, i'd rather have the rain... the trout can re-populate afterwards, unless there is a barrier.

Don't pray for rain and then complain about the mud.

2-3 days of rain sounds good. We need it!!

Guys - Muddy water just means you can break out the #4 White Zonkers tied to 20lb. test on Dukes! Come on rain!

It ain't lookin' good. We needed the rain badly.

State climatologist David Stookesbury (sp?) was on the radio this morning pointing out that we need, in fact, several tropical storms' worth of rain.

At this point in my life, I have friends living along the East & Gulf coasts. I never forget those people when I silently pray for major rain in North Georgia. Those friends will be "paying the freight" for our beneficial tropical rain.

I've had the chance to wet my line 4 of the last 5 days and I need a good reason to stay in before I get into trouble ;):D

We need the rain bad...Praying it does not fizzle out before it reaches us :cross:

David... the next thing they're gonna say is it's making a u-turn... hey... maybe it will do a 360 and head up our way... with the way they have forecasted it so far, they should just go ahead and fuss up... put one of these on their forecast...

OK. If you have control over such things, Saltysenior, have it hold it's bladder (Florida and south GA have had enough rain), stay at tropical deprssion wind speeds, curl back to the right, and park itself directly over Lake Lanier. Then tell it to let go until Lanier is at about 1073' elevation. If it has anything left it can mosey on up to the western Carolinas to give them a good drenching.

Hope that's not asking too much.;)

Seriously, it looks like Lanier has risen about 2 1/2 feet so far from Fay.

They keep moving it to the left... toward the refineries... but saying it could go a few hundred miles either way... so who knows?... nobody right now.

I think if it hit any where west of the big river, it wont come here... there was some mention of a trough... that's our only hope... glad it didnt hit Florida... those guys dont need another 20 inches.

There are more possibilities out in the Atlantic... maybe we'll get lucky again.
