What does palmered mean? I hear it alot but am unsure what it means.

Palmered means you spiral the item on the fly in open spirals leaving space between the wraps, so that the underlying material shows.

Oh ok. That exciter I did was that way. I guess I was palmering hackle and didn't even know it. :)
