Here's a big black stone I tied up for a trip to GSMNP a long while back...
Hook: Big 2XL nymph hook (Sz 6 shown)
Thread: Black 8/0 or 3/0
Weight: Lead golf tape (Zonker strips)
Tail: Black Rubber legs
Lower Body: Dk. Brown stretch vinyl
Underbody: Peacock Ice Dubbing
Legs and Antenae: Black Rubber legs
Wing Case: Brown Thin Skin coated Sally Hansens HAN

This is a great stonefly nymph pattern. Pretty easy to tie and only uses 4 materials. I added a beadhead to help angle the antenae up a little. And enough weight to sink a boat... Gotta get it down deep... Especially in the faster riffles stoneflies like...
