We headed up to Michigan to face an unknown quantity. The first day was tough fishing. Anytime you could finally get a fish to take, you were then faced with the likelihood of a break off. These fish were so big they would run you right into a logjam....and then snap! So with only 8 lb tippet, putting the brakes on these guys was tough.

We were about 5 miles from open water so these hogs were fresh! I probably landed 1 for every 4 fished hooked. It was amazing though....very strange fishing for monster fish in water smaller than the Chattoog!!!

Wow. 8lb tippet in skinny water.... I'm impressed. Looks like a ton of fun. Thanks for the report.
