October Photo Contest

Since Flounder is not posting, he has asked me to post for him so he won't waste his last two posts before the big 2000

The October Photo Contest will be on "The Gear".

Here's the rules:

1. Submissions have to be in by the last day of the month
2. A poll to determine the winner will be the first week of the subsequent month.
3. No "photoshop" additions like extra images, but you can do color, level, contrast, etc. type adjustments.
4. Please give your entry a name or title.
5. Bonus Points will be given for adding technical data such as camera used, iso, focal length, camera settings, etc.
5. In order to keep things fair, enter into one of 2 categories:

A: Point and Shoot
B: SLR or large format

The October photo Contest is open to all photos on a “Gear” theme. This could include tackle, flies, vests, Trout Bum Vehicles and trunks, watercraft, etc. The photos must be taken between October 1 and the October 31, 2008.

So there it is. Sweet and simple. Now let's see what we can get.

You can post them right here in this thread however you'd like. I generally use Photobucket.com and use the IMG code. I use the "large 640 x 480" setting so it fits in well with message boards. Of course you can post them however you like.

He asked me to post some stuff for him too and I refused! I don't have a degree in the human psyche like some around here, but I am sure Flounder would agree that posting stuff for him makes us all enablers of his boorish behavior. :rolleyes:

It has everything. 9.9 Merc, 3.5 gal fuel tank, 30 lb trolling motor, front mounted battery for balance, rod racks, Eagle depth locator with temperature, Anchormate pulley tendor system, and Gilligan in the background. It'll go about 24 mph through 16" of water with no passengers.

PS - Olympus C5050 with wide-angle lens attachment; BW mode; f/2.3 at 1/80 second on #1 and f/2.6 at 1/100 second on #2. The rat in # 3 was full color f/2.3 at 1/60 second. My neighbor Eddie helped with pose and creative input.

Taken on 10/26/08 with Nikon D70s and 70-200mm F2.8 Nikon zoom

Last Saturday evening I loaded the truck and headed up to North Carolina to chase some fall brown trout. In true trout bum fashion and with no itinerary or reservations.....I camped on the banks of a favorite tailwater and stripped streamers on a sink tip for a few days. Slept in the back of the truck. Froze my arse off. Snowed on Tuesday. Caught some big ornery brown trout. Fun.

Headed back for a rematch this weekend.
