A friend of mine was looking at picking up one of these for cruising in the hooch. Do you guys think it would be worth for the hooch. I have seen one review where they took on river but not sure of the durability.

It doesn't appear to be very maneuverable or fishing friendly. For use on the Hooch, I see alot of cons and very few pros.

Problem you will have with a raft set-up like that, is you will need at least two folks paddling to keep it going where you want. Most that have rafts on the river to fish have it set up with a rowing frame. That makes it maneuverable. Then the problem is you will end up being the one that does most of the rowing and not much fishing.

A raft like that is great to just float down the river for fun.

That would be like trying to fish from a dead cow. Not the most maneuverable craft. A small cataraft might be more suitable. However, as previously mentioned, you will spend more time rowing than fishing unless you use it primarily for getting to a spot and anchoring. Which works fine by the way.
