Please be on the lookout for our camper that was stolen this week sometime between Aug. 2, 2009 to Aug. 6, 2009. It is a 2005 Aerolite Cub model C214 hybrid expandable, GA tag # TL37776. If you see this camper on the highway or at a hunt or fish camp please call 911.

This camper was stolen from a private residence in Dacula, GA where it had been stored for over 4 years. All precautions were taken to keep it safe but the hitch lock was broken off and camper was hauled away.

Thanks very much for your attention in this matter.

What Kim did not put was that the location it was stolen is also the same place I park mine - right beside his. Nothing happened to mine.

Scary.

Boy, I feel your pain on that one. I would be sick as I am sure you are. I hope you get it back damage free.

I bought my camper used and you can see where someone tried breaking in. It is just so senseless.

Bad news seems to beg the question: Insured? Also, is there an affordable way to install and pay for one of those satellite units, that aids in the recovery of stolen cars/trucks! Can,t recall the brand name, but they may be a good investment,if such thefts are common place{ which they may become, with all the foreclosures out there}! Jest a-worderin. Rocketroy P.S. Condolences Vidalia!

You probably mean LoJack. (http://www.lojack.com/) Not a bad idea for something that can be hitched to the back of a truck.

Kim, I hope it's found soon. You would think that a camper would be hard to hide. Maybe send out a bulletin to all camp grounds in Georgia?

I live Jackson County where Gwinnett, Hall. Barrow and Jackson meet, only a few miles from Dacula. There has been two campers stolen during the day, 2-5 during the last five months. One had the axle chained to an eye bolt in the driveway, the chain and tongue lock both cut.

The police say it is becoming a common theft. Neither have been recovered. :shake::(

I feel for you, Kim. I hope it's recovered undamaged and there's a prosecution.

Sorry to hear this...I had mine torched by a bunch of kids at a storage place in Marietta a few years back. The storage place wouldn't cover crap; they acted like they did me a favor by calling the fire dept to put it out. Needless to say it turned into a real hassle with my home owners...

Good luck with it...

Sorry to hear about the theft. Lojack might help but keep in mind that a cruiser needs to be within 300 yards for it to receive.

Thanks gang and it does suck that we live in this kind of world but in the scheme of things it could be a lot worse. We will start the insurance process this week. Hopefully that works out well....urgh

Sorry to hear you lost your camper. Hope things work out with the insurance because they have probably trashed your camper by now.

One question, what kind of hitch lock did you have that they were able to get off. I have my trailer parked in my driveway but I worry the same thing will happen to me when I am away. I have a hitch lock on on it that fits where the ball would go but it doesn't seem that substantial. There is another by Master I have seen and thought of changing to but if by chance you were using one of those, I'll save my money and make sure my insurance premium is up to date.

Might try one of these. www.trailerlock.com

It was a Master camper lock for the hitch. B Kar Ma said it looked like they just snapped it off. I like the lock that Ole Man was showing in his post. We will probably get one when & if we get a replacement camper. Thanks for the tip.
