Hey guys,

I just ordered my first toon!! A ODC 920 from Creek Company!! I can't wait till it gets here. We are suppose to meet the in-laws at Tugaloo State Park next month, I hope it gets here before then. Other wise I'll be stuck in a boat with my father-in-law and brother-in-law drowning crickets all day. And I know who will be stuck sitting on the cooler in the middle too. I know some of you use pontoons and I was wondering what kind of rod holders do you have? Its got to be cheap, I barely talked my wife into letting me get the boat. Oh, wait a minute, I forgot she'll never see this site. I mean I set my foot down and said, "WOMAN, I'm buying that boat!" ;)

Dangit. I was hoping for link to a video of Steamboat Willie with Mickey tossing a fly rod off of the bow of the boat :(

In a word......Right! :rotfl: That phrase will guarantee you ALL the fishing time you could want. Just with interruptions by phone calls from lawyers! :D

Thanks, I think... It's a good thing the coffee came out my nose - I only had to shake out the keyboard and wipe it off. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'd have been fine if I hadn't instantly "seen" the cartoon and "heard" the soundtrack! :D:shake::D That would have been a perfect spot for Gatorbyte's patented Swirlly Cast.

Thanks, guys! I needed to laugh.

It worked great!!! Can't wait to try it out this weekend at lake hartwell:) I was just reading the web about duke's creek. According to google it's about an hour and a half from tugaloo state park and I was just wondering if any of you think it would be worth my time to drive over? According to the internet anyone can fish on Saturday, Sunday and Wed. and I'd be able to go on Sunday. It looks like a bueatiful place, but I'm not sure about a 3 hour round trip.

thanks in advance,
hNt

PS, Im not asking for your favorite honey holes or flies or anything just a general idea. I just want to have a good vacation. :)

You need to call the folks at Smithgall Woods and see if a slot is available and reserve it. Now you can take a chance and go there and see if someone doesn't show up but with an hour and a half trip time, may not be worth the risk.

Sorry - don't know the number but someone will chime in with it...:cross:

Yo. Might have wanted start a new thread for your question. It would get more attention. Anyhow, give Smithgall woods a call and see when they have a reservation open. Pick either a morn on noon slot and give her a try.
Think Ninja Fishing and don't get bummed if you get skunked. It can be tough fishing.

It is all wade only and there are 4 sections. BARBLESS FLIES ONLY !!!!! Don't even carry a barbed fly with you or you could get a fine.

Another option would be the Chattahoochee WMA on the outside of Helen. Stop in at Unicoi Outfitters and see what flies are working. They can also give you directions from there and suggest some good spots. I usually fish Dukes in the AM when i can get a reservation and then hit the Hooch in the WAM.
