From our good friends at Creekwood Resorts, here is a copy of their monthly newsletter. Thanks as always to Melissa and Robert for their ongoing support of NGTO:
We want to thank all those who emailed us saying hi or to enter the Story Writing Contest. Our First News Letter was a great success. A big thank you to those who when reminded of us; called and booked there reservations for 2010. For those who have never been here we would love for you to give us a try.
February was quiet until the 12th when Valentines weekend brought all the sleet, ice and 5 inches of snow. Robert got on the tractor to clear the roads, so that all the couples checking in for Valentines weekend could get up to their cabins and campsites, but at one point Robert and the tractor came down the hill sliding sideways, I thought it was going to turn over with him on it, but he hit the landscape ties and was able to get it turned around and stopped. After Robert came in and changed his pants!!!!, he continued on with the help of Russ Peters and David Fine staying out in the freezing cold spreading salt.
We want to thank everyone that came out in the crazy weather to celebrate Valentines, Anniversary’s and Birthdays. Speaking of Birthday’s it was Roberts 50th February 14th.
Now on to the Story writing contest, lots of entry’s some of which were not publishable, but made us laugh till we cried. The ones we could publish we put on our Blog ,
Blog Shortcut
Unfortunately there can only be one winner per newsletter and the winner is this month is …
Paul Tarnuzzer!!! Here is our first paragraph and the winning continuation…
One cold wintry day a group of us decided to go up to Mr. Mountain and do some target shooting. The ground crunched under our feet and the air was bitingly cold. It was a different kind of Georgia day and there was an ominous glow as the sun rose over the ridge. The day held promise as we hiked into the back woods when suddenly…
in the distance we were stopped dead in our tracks by an eerie howl coming from further up the mountain. We looked at one another for a brief moment too stunned to speak, afraid that asking what could have made such a bone chilling noise may cause its source to materialize before us. A few short moments that seemed like an eternity passed with no other sound beyond a chilling breeze passing through the trees tops above us. Slowly, we mustered our courage, laughed off our feelings of fear and pressed on with our quest for the perfect location to set the targets and proceed with our shooting plans…..
Now get those keyboards singing and keep it going………(please make your email subject “story contest”)
