I have more folks asking me about accessing NGTO via their Iphones, Droids, Blackberry's and other smart phones. Some have had problems when using the ngto.org search that takes them to this URL:
http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ngto/
The above URL has a navigation bar along the left side and uses a framed format that really messes with some mobile browsers. Therefore, try the links below that will take you to the same material but without the navigation bar on the left, just the one along the top.
Type in this Smart Phone friendly link for the NGTO Home Page:
http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ngto/front.shtml
You can also scan in the 2D bar code to take you to the same location as the above URL:
http://qrcode.kaywa.com/img.php?s=5&d=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgia-outdoors.com%2Fngto%2Ffront.shtml
Type in this link to take you directly to the NGTO Message Board / Forums page
http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/forum/index.php
You can also scan in the 2D bar code to take you to the same location as the above URL:

Excellent...the frames were always a PITA on my BB...not as much on the 'droid, but still a little in the way. This will work good. Y'all also might consider adding Tapatalk. It supports vBulletin 3.7.x and is free - it allows folks with their app on iPhones, Androids, BBs and Nokias to use a slick interface. Give it a look-see at http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php
Or, is there a built-in mobile version available in vBulletin that could be turned on?

I was curios as to why there is not a mobile version in low bandwidth for this site. I also tried to get on via BB and just gave up. All kinds of wing dings all over the page. I don't know if you guys have bought a mobile app of this vbulletin software though, but it works great on mobile phones with data plans.
I often report "live on scene" posts sometimes here back home on another forum. Just mostly to poke at all the men folks doin' honey do's...:)

The current version of vBulletin we are running does have a Mobile Style / Version but it has been known to be very buggy.
We are looking into upgrading our Version and the Mobile Style feature is one of the items I'm looking into.
Also aa4ga, thanks for the tip on tapatalk. I'll have to check it out.

this is the version we run, we have problems with the high bandwidth mobile version...the low bandwidth is bad about not showing hot linked pics...like a photobucket pic...

Cool...let us know what you think...in the meantime, the frameless version is not a bad alternative....thanks for putting up the link - I'm reading NGTO on the droid right now!

Thanks for putting the links up Sam. I us my iPhone on NGTO quite often and for some reason if I hit the back button I would be taken out of NGTO. on it now and I bookmarked the first link. It now works as it should and takes me to the previous page...well done Sam

I have finally gotten a chance to look into this further and I can implement, but wanted to know from those that use a smart phone to access NGTO if you have tried the TapaTalk app on your phones. Is it something I should move forward with or do the links I provided in the beginning of this thread meet all your needs ?

I still use a bullhorn and pick up a non-rotary phone with a live "operator' that says "number please".

SS ever since you gave me the link more than a year ago I have had no issues with my iPhone and NGTO. I was curious about the scans though.
I will have to give the tapatalk a shot.
Thanks for keeping everything running smoothly:cheers:
I don't quite understand what Tapatalk does but the forum works well on my Palm Pre Plus. IIUC, it is WebOs.

My understanding is that you download the Tapatalk app to your phone and it aids you in browsing Forums that have registered with Tapatalk and have enabled the Tapatalk plugin on the forum.
I'm just trying to see if anyone is using TapaTalk and if it would be worth activating the plugin on our site.

Nu2,
the 2D Barcodes just give folks an easier way of inputting the link I gave you. Majority of the new Smartphones have apps that can scan the 2D codes to link you to sites or download large amount of text easily.
It's a chicken and egg thing for me...I don't use Tapatalk because none of the forums I frequent use it. If they did, I might.
So, don't get implement it just for me - but if you do, I might use it!

I think it is time to resurrect the idea of mobile forums (mobile app). I would pay for the app to view the forums, just in case someone needed to know.;) I just can't get enough since I haven't hit the water as much lately.
