Opening day birds in Montana!

My pup and I headed to the hills this morning in search of dusky grouse. This is Reba's first real hunting season (last season, she was 5 months old on opener, so it was mainly a season of letting her have fun). Today, after a 400' vertical climb, we found a nice stand of pine and aspens and were able to grab a limit of birds in just an hour and a half.

Though she didn't flush any birds, she did get her first real retrieve in today which made poppa a happy man!

Very nice Stephen. Our property in WI is loaded with Grouse but distance and time prevents me from participating.
