groundpounder

My buddy Steve gave me a trip to Fern Valley for my 40th birthday and we cashed it in today. After reading all the great reviews on Fern Valley this was definitely on our to-do list. And I will say that Marty and Glad are as friendly and give all the hospitality that people on this forum rave about. The leaves are definitely in full color and falling!

Cleaning leaves off your line here and there was part of the fishing today. But the fish were biting, strong pulling, and gave excellent arial displays:)
This was an average fish of the day. About 12 inches but thick with tall backs:)

My two biggest fish were both 17 inchers. Here is one of the Rainbows.

Then very excited to see my second 17 incher be a Brown!

Steve topped my 17's with this nice 18.5 inch Rainbow that came in our late afternoon storm.

All in all we each landed about 40 fish for the day. Water is still a little low from what Marty said which has the fish bunched up in the deeper runs. Hopefully we will get some more rain soon to help out these North Ga streams. Fish were caught on all sorts of flies from dries to streamers and everything inbetween. You might even have notced my knotty legged stone in one of the pics;).
