Like the new section, and I heard the guys on that new Trout Slayer team are the "reel" deal.

Tippet rings.....I think fips rules limit that only the leader/line connection may be loop to loop - no other loop connections (tippet rings). In reading Dynamic Nymphing, George Daniels talks about using them for all of his leaders so.......a little confused.

Are they legal?

They are not legal...but George Daniel is approaching the masses with his book and when he is "not" in competition he uses tippet rings among other avenues of effective nymphing.

Excellent book for anyone wanting a great in depth read that will truly up their skill level.

Any of the TS guys going to SE Regionals?

I wish they would make it legal so I could use tippet rings on my sighter. It would make a sighter last a long long time. Without them though, I lose some of my length everytime I have to replace the tippet since I have to cut it and do a blood knot. With a tippet ring I could replace tippet as much as I wanted and the sighter would remain the same. Do you think they might approve it in the future?

no chance of them approving in future...
fyi, prowler...attach some 3x to the end of your siter, to use for the addition of tippet additions, instead of trimming good siter material.

No chance on Fips, but I believe it could be an amendment for each local competition if I understood Dejon correctly. I would like to see some deviation where it doesn't really break the spirit of Fips rules. In my opinion, the loop to loop and tippet rings would not handicap someone from competing in a true Fips contest. We all have to know how to tie knots.

Yeah I might start doing that. Jan Siman is not cheap. :)
