A special invitation from from Marty and Glad brought Spinstress, myself and my buddy, Richard, to Fern Vally this past Saturday. The fishing was a little slow for us this time, but still a good day. Since these fish had never before seen a spinner, I thought I was setting myself up for a real stomping. While that turned out to not be the case, Abby still caught some really nice trout on that little rod of hers. She had a lot of follows by the big boys, but it was the smaller, more inexperienced trout that jumped on the spinners. Here's a short video of one of them (please forgive my poor videography skills)

I did manage to pull in one of the larger trout. I thought I had pushed the record button and handed the camera off to my buddy. It was a long fight, with lots of screaming drag. Then, after the release, we went back to view the vid, only to discover it was never recording :bang::bang::bang:
I also managed to hook and play "Troutzilla". I know where this brute lies, and have fought him twice now, but he still eludes the net. Ggrrrrrrrr! I would say a conservative estimate is somewhere around 28" and ten pounds. I'll get him one day and know for sure.
While the fishing was a little off (compared to the last trip to Fern Vally only - it was awesome compared to most any place else) the hospitality of Glad and the pups more than made up for it.
Again, folks, if you have never been to Fern Vally you owe it to yourself to go. The fish are big and plentiful, the price is very reasonable, and the hospitality is just beyond compare. We're already looking forward to the next trip up.
