Better take your own grits.
Scott and I got in last night and fished 9 mile and Chittanango Creek today. Wild brown water and the fishing was good. 9 mile is deceiving in it looks really small and doesn't look like a very good fish holding creek, but the numbers were very good. Hopefully we'll give a great report when it's all said and done. Don't want to spill much right now. Bret, Bob, Jaime, and Brandon should get in tonight, so good times ahead.

Deepwader, Jakal, Brandon and I got here a few hours ago. We're scouting out the water tomorrow and fishing on West Canada Creek, 9 Mile Creek, and Chittenango Creek. There's some rain in the forecast, but nothing we can't handle.
This is going to be a blast and the South is well represented.

Fishing has been VERY difficult. A lot of blanks on day 1. Hoochbuster is tearing it up and in the mix. Tomorrow should have extremely high catch rates.

Tough comp. Some beats were really good and some beats were horrible. I had beat 2 on the West Canada and only had 30 yards of fishable water. I had to cross some really treacherous water just to get to it. Caught on 15" brown over there and that was it for me on the Canada. I had a good beat on 9 mile and scored 8 fish. Gabe came in after me and brought in 15. Man can that kid fish. We are really proud of him. He came in 5th against some very stout competition. Pat Weiss who finished 1st is a Team USA guy. Fished some really pretty water while up there and the brown trout here are beasts. A 15" fish feels like a 20" monster. I'm tired and worn out and heading home tomorrow morning. Can't wait to get back to Georgia.
UPDATE - the scores were revised GABE FINISHED FOURTH! This is a truly remarkable achievement for anyone not named "Pat Weiss". Congrats to HoochBuster.....

Second on the great finish by Gabe and he didn't kill any NY fish while he was there.::ke: Finally back home and I feel like a truck ran over me. It was a great trip even though I don't feel like I fished as good as I should have. I've got to learn how to fish the poor beats better. I had 2 bad beats out of the 3 I fished but I didn't fish them well. I caught one 15" fish on the West Canada(About died crossing to fish the 30 yards of fishable water) and two fish on beat 6 on the Chittenanga. Bob pulled 9 fish from that beat so I know they were there and it's my fault that I didn't do better.

Wow, looks like them square-heads taught you guys a thing or two about fishing above the Mason-Dixon line! ::ke:
Great job on the 4th place finish Hoochbuster! Rumor is that you did your homework and greased your comp flies with some Cream of Wheat extract. :)
He would have done better, but 4 of the fish he caught he bashed against a rock in a fit of adrenaline fury...:(

The ones that would have won you the comp are always the ones that you decide to bash against a rock:(
Buck, I did my Homework, but not with cream of wheat, maybe Bret will post the picture I am referring to.

What a great trip. I got a thorough whoopin' and didn't make the best of my opportunities. It took me too long to figure things out when it mattered. Chittenango creek is a new favorite. In 3 days of fishing, caught only browns. No complaints from me. Hoochbuster is the cream of the crop and thrilled to have him on our team. Even if he bashes big browns on the head with a rock.
Here's some pics

With the exception of Gabe, we all got whupped, no doubt about it. But it looks like Pat shopped for "flies" at the same place Gabe did....

We got to fish a bunch of places that were way cool, caught a bunch of fish when it didn't count, had a great time. I am going to put a TR up in the Beyond GA forum, but am too tired now from the whupping.....
Obviously I didn't use mine right. Hey Hooch, how did you attach those worms to your flies?:D

That's not true!!! I witnessed you catching a nice brown on a worm at West Canada Creek! We almost died getting that fish but darn it you got it!

Thanks for reminding me of that adventure again Marc. I've been having flashbacks for the last few days now. I might be suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome.:D
