Looking for some help

I'm an "Old guy" long ago fly fisher (streams in New Hampshire) - not much talent casting, but fairly good "Euro nymph" (no name back then). Seven or eight years ago did some fishing in the Chatooga with, at best, fair success. Couldn't fish since then since needed to care for my wife who recently passed away.
Going to be in northwest Georgia in early May and wanting to try fishing that area (maybe Toccoa River??. I've read warnings about different fishing since "Release of water" is a factor. I don't like any fishing other than wading. I'm quite healthy and strong, but also 82 years old. Can I fish that river or in that area? Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
