when you should just stay at home...

Posted 07-14-08 at 10:50 AM by Naturally_Fly
you ever have one of those days that you should just stay at home...here is one for me...

i was headed up to my parents cabin in the mountains with my better half and i talked her into trying a little hole on creek where i pulled out two bows before...and as we get up to town she is telling me how she doesnt know how long ill get to fish b/c of whatever reason but i talk her into it and letting me try...well we get to the stream and she just wants to sit in the car which was fine so i grabbed my small stream rod(5' 3wt) and start on this one run with no luck so i start my way towards another run and i slip and soak my left side...no problem my wallets isnt wet or checkbook...so thats ok...i start working this run and i get hung on a tree and when i go to retrieve my fly i hear "SNAP" there goes my rod tip...then i start to hear my car horn...and my wife is ready to go...so for 15 min of fishing i get a soaked left side(surprisingly no bruise), a broken rod tip, and no fish...

...but on a better note, i found out today i can send the rod back to BPS and get a replacement so thats a good thing....
