St Simons Fishing trip

Posted 03-21-12 at 06:56 PM by hlduke82
Last weekend I had the opportunity to use the certificate I won at the Fall Fling to fish with Capt Dave Edens around St Simons. I went down there with my son, Joey. We had a great trip. On Saturday our luck was poor, the weather was dismal, with high winds and we only caught three small sea trout. We were disappointed and not optomistic. On Sunday Capt Dave reccomended we return to the flat that we avoided because of kayak fisherman the day before. The wind was blowing 15-20 mph. We found the redfish and after several different flies, uninterested fish and brutal wind, a brown clouser with gold flash did the trick.

After lunch Joey landed this beauty with a gorgeous back cast across the wind

Finally I caught this one

We had a great time. Capt Dave Edens did a great job of locating the fish. He has a real knowledge of the area. I would recommend a trip with him anytime.

I thanked him for his support of NGTO.
