  • GSMNP fishing and fall leaves

This past weekend in the park was beautiful and the flows were higher than I expected. If you're looking for fishable water, head up to the park and you'll find plenty.

The fishing was good. It was about a 5:1 dry:nymph split.

    The water was crystal clear.

The same stream: the first from last fall, the second from this fall.

Beautiful, I've not fished GSNP, yet but those last two give a great perspective on current water level. Thanks for posting.

            The Leaves

Them sure are some purdy leaves! But in another ten days or so you will curse them as each cast winds up connected to the castoffs of last summer's tree growth ....

The photos are excellent and really capture the unique colorations of fall with the leaves and the light. Very nicely done as were the water photos. But the leaves do eventually become problematic and seem to attract flies like magnets. But a small price to pay for being out in one of the best of the four seasons.

            Thanks!
