  • Dukes in Sept

Friend of mine rented a cabin at Smithgall /Dukes mid September. Just read it is closed to fishing except for cottage guests.

Can anyone confirm. Also, any fished dukes in September?

    Thoughts and recommendations appreciated!

    Thanks !!

This is correct they are closed in the summer time. The gentleman working there stated they have been closed for the summer the past 3 years. I think they used to be open year round.

They open up again on Oct 1st. They have a few spots left in Oct.

There is a lot of good info in the tread.
But here is my 2 cents in a nut shell. With the water as clear as it is STEALTH is the key. Small ( nothing over an 18) natural nymphs on lite tippet. This place can be very humbling.
Keep us post as to how you did.
