Shoalies in Columbus

Where can a bank fisherman or wader find safe access to the Hooch in Columbus? I am familiar with the Riverwalk, and I would like to know if I can trot down to some shoalie looking spots and catch a few without running afoul of the law because I have heard that there are places on the river where they don't like rock hoppers about. Any advice, tricks, what to look out for like generation schedules would be appreciated.

There are also Stripes off the riverwalk in town below the the rapid sections for sure
