  • Tips For Newbies

Jeff Durniak noticed bunches of questions being posted, and asked me to post this.

Peripheral vision is a valuable attribute, especially for new trouters. If NGTO’s latest cohort of excited, new trouters (“stocking on the Hooch DH,” How’s Chattooga fishing,” “water conditions getting better?”) would simply look around a bit and even click twice, they’d strike gold in several spots:

    1) NGTO sticky in Hooch forum – DH stocking procedures
    http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/foru...d.php?t=105429

    2) NGTO sticky on reporting poachers and polluters (y’all will soon see some!)
    http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/foru...ad.php?t=66927

    3) Dredger’s weekly “tips” in the NGTO General Info forum, also known as the GAWRD north Georgia fishing report by those with nets, shockers, hatcheries, and stocking trucks:

    4) Rabunite FF Secrets
    http://rabuntu.org/site/about/educat...grams/secrets/

When we were struggling noobs, the veterans of our time gave us a helping hand. Now it’s our turn to “pass it on.” Hope these tips help our latest cohort’s mining expeditions and subsequent discovery of finned jewels. And thanks to all of you for buying your fishing licenses and TU brookie car tags!

PS- the answer to Monday’s bridge truck riddle is Hwy 75 at Paces.

    Sincerely,
    The Driver.

This alludes to a photo of a hatchery truck parked under a bridge, with an enormous hose leading to the river.

Thanks for putting this together, Jeff and Windknot! There's a goldmine of information in there.
