              Redtop,
You should sell your images to the companies that make the products you cook.. They would look great on their commercials ! Those bisquits with the butter and syrup look almost too good to be real !

Had a friend and his kids over. I made my first attempt at smoking a rack of pork ribs. I did not get the smoke penetration I was hoping for. I used foil pouches for the hickory chips, and monitored the cooking temperature with my digital thermometer. I maintained temps around 225 to 250F. I didn't get the chips close enough to the burner, so the chips did not smolder enough during the first 1.5 hours of cooking time. However, everyone was happy with the results. I also made oven roasted butternut squash and potato and onion hash to go with them. Dessert was fresh fried beignets with plenty of powdered sugar.

                            Dessert Tonite

A Fruit Crumble. It is a variation on Ina Garten's Fruit Crumble recipe. Used nectarines, plums and peaches rather than berries.

Now you've done it. I've got to stop reading and dreaming about catching fish and look up a receipt for fruit crumble!

Dinner was a grilled cheese sandwich. Didn't feel like cooking much with the hot weather, and the wife not here to eat. I ended up wrapping up the meal with a Greek style Frappé and some fermented leaves.
