Being a Philly boy I hate Pittsburgh, but it was a great game. Even my gf was on the edge of her seat. At the start of the third I told her, Pittsburgh will score with about 1 minute left. That's just how they roll.

Best game in the series. Nashville hit more metal than I've seen in a while. Wonder if Lebron and "The Land" can squeeze by today. Thats one of the worst names for a city up there along with: Hotlanta, Chi-town, the Peg, and the big D...feel free to add any more atrocities to the list.

addendum: That last sentence pun was incidental. Just noticed it.

Unfortunately Adonis Garcia is out for two months with finger surgery:

Atlanta Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia will most likely miss the next two months after undergoing finger surgery, the Braves announced on Wednesday.

Garcia had surgery on Monday to repair ligament damage in his left ring finger after being placed on the 10-day disabled list on June 7.

Rio "Big River" Ruiz is likely to see some action and regular playing time in Garcia’s absence.

Garcia has a .247 batting average, 16 RBI and four home runs in 38 games this season.
          Can't catch a break.

I'm not mad at Adonis being out. I've never been a big fan of him. hopefully we will pony up and trade for a high end third baseman. Josh Donaldson has been on my wish list for a while

Except for half the starting pitching. Problem for the Braves is they don't know which half will show up for any given game.

Hopefully Newcomb will be a spark plug for the rotation. If we can get some consistency out of the rotation, this team could do some serious damage. Intrigued to see if we manage to get Freddie and Matt Adams in the lineup together for the second half of the season...

Freddie and Matt will be in the lineup, that is really not a concern. What is a concern is the inconsistencies with the starting pitching and the bullpen. Tehran has now lost 6 home starts in a row and has given up at least two runs in the 1st inning of every start. My confidence grows less in him being an ace for our staff. RA had a great start the other day and I hope that Bartolo NEVER comes back to start and only comes out of the bullpen when (IF) he comes back at all. Why the Braves did not attempt to pick up Doug Fister off of waivers is beyond me though.
