If'n y'all've been payin' enny 'tention to the weather reports of late, you'll recall that today was s'posed to be purty nasty fer the most part. Overcast, showers on an' off, rain jes' a-settin' in this afternoon. So, on account of the prognosis fer foul weather, Meaux an' I went out to the 'Hooch a bit earlier than our accustomed time.

Y'know, sometimes it's int'restin' jes' how people act when they're out fer a day on the 'Hooch. Meaux an' I gener'ly begin our 'Hooch fishin' sessions at Abbott's Bridge an' work our way nawthward from there, then drift back down to our startin' point. (It's always a good idear to go upstream when startin', jes' in case you have motor troubles an' have to git back to the ramp. 'Tis easier to float downstream to the ramp than paddle back up.)

Ya know, chere, it has done been a real good day. First of all, I got to sleep in 'til nigh on six-fifteen this mornin'. That's a good two hours more sleep than I usually git.

It's significance includes being the day of the NGTO Fall Fling,as well as the meeting of my LSU...

Well, I reckon it's been a good while since I blogged or blabbered 'bout ennythin' new on here, so I figger I best git right down to it.
'Bout a month ago, me an' the wife, Meaux, took a trip down to Titusville fer to purchase a bigger Gheenoe fer fishin' our favorite river up here north of 'Lanta. She didn't have no gas-o-line powered motor on her, but we figgered we'd do wih the little, ol' 8HP Even-ruder that was a-pow'rin' t'other Gheenoe. It done a good job fer 'round an' about...

PART II
Sorry 'bout the interruption. I am a tad bit verbose, an' there is a limit of ten-thousand characters per blog posting. (I reckon that this should be a hint, but I refuse to accept it.
)So let's continue:
I reckon that we must’ve spent prolly forty-five minutes or so there at that rock pile. There weren’t a whole lot of action, but ever’ once in awhile a fish would nudge or nibble at our nymphs and wooley boogers jes’ to let us know that they...
