Hey man, regarding your post about the waders. I know SIMMS are "the" brand in waders, but its hard to imagine that anyone can claim ALL the other brands are crap. I had a pair of White River Middle of the road wader last me about 6 years...any I probably could have just patched the little leaks they had with the included patch kit. Just like Goretex used to be the only brand to trust in waterproof, the technology in breathable waders is old and has been copied by so many other companies. Last year, I picked up these to replace my old White River waders and they have been rock solid. http://www.basspro.com/White-River-F...5011707521518/
If you take good care of them, use a mat or pad to stand on while changing in/out of them, hang them up instead of keeping them in the stuff sack, and dont beat the snot out of them while in the river, you should be fine. For wading boots, I also had a pair of WR ones for several years that did me just fine...still have them as back-ups or extras. I did however upgrade them last year to the Patagonia ultralight boots since we do a decent about of hiking with our gear sometimes. Check out Sierra trading post or just keep an eye our for deals on boots...any of the reputable companies that produce waders has overstock and last years models out there on the Webs...usually just about finding the right size for the right price. No doubt you can get suited up for $200 boots and waders...Good Luck!
