    Pescador -

My wife and I are travelling to Tamarindo, Costa Rica for a vacation. We're got several fishing trips scheduled, including a kayak fishing trip that--I imagine--would be amongst mangrove forests and river inlets. I've considered taking my fly rod with me but I have no idea a) if there would be any good opportunities out of the kayak to catch something on the fly, b) if there are good opportunities, what flies to tie/buy and bring, or c) if there could be good fishing on the beach in the AM or PM.

As a result of this post I made, FlyG suggested I get in touch with you as you may have done some fishing there in the past.

Thanks for any help you could provide.

By the way, your occupation is listed as "fisheries biologist." What do you do? I'm a fisheries biologist here in Montana.
