    I definitely will give Fires Creek a try.

    The Nantahala DH is very good too, and there are always lots of wild fish. I fished there one day in October and caught a few fish, including a 15" rainbow and some brookies. The water is never as clear in the Nantahala DH as Fires Creek....

    I've fished the North Fork of the Shoshone River at Wapiti Campground and caught three nice fish in 15 minutes under impossible circumstances.   • I bet that brown wasn't a recent stocker. It is November and brown trout are in spawning mode. It could have come up from the Chattahoochee (or down from the lake).
