Appreciate the info. Iíll be headed there at the end of next week and even if I end up in NC at least I have the license! Was just curious about road conditions upward from the campground since my last visit I had never fished there and had a rental car.

    Luminous,

I started tying about 4 years ago, and above are great recommendations . Focus on a few patterns and be patient. YouTube makes things look very easy. I still have box of the first 40 flies I tied to go back and look at for humor.

I was up there in early May, very same experience... lots of looks at a dry but few hookups. Going back in a couple of weeks. I only fished to campground, how is the road headed up to tate city?

  • When I started fly fishing four years ago this board was a wealth of information. I am lucky enough to get to the mountains every summer for a couple of weeks to chase trout and relax on some great small streams. I could post more often but 90 percent would be warm water... bass and panfish....
