So which is the greater hazard around loaded shotguns? A dog or a former US VP? 8- ) Sorry, just could no longer restrain the impulse! Either way, as someone already said, never have a live round in the weapon of any type until you are ready to fire....

Exactly Professor Buck! Being live at any race is so very, very different than what they have on the tube. My personal favorites are races where they turn left and right, plus go up and down hills. Excellent facility on the east bank of Lanier called Road Atlanta. Excellent track with many good...

Races on the tube are like basket ball on the tube: Watch the opening 3 laps and the last three laps!...

When it comes to buzz-kill on a good rally, try the constant instant replays or the commercial breaks ....... selling beer and cornflakes and prescription meds is critical you know! 8- )

What conference were the refs from? Some conferences have a variation in what they consider a foul or just active football play. Personally, I think any good team can overcome bad officiating...

I vote for the game to be played in Green Bay's Lambo Field ........ just for the giggle factor and see how "manly" the southern boys are! It will, however, be interesting to see how viewership stacks up for this one. A lot of people outside the southeast just don't care much either w...

What is it really all about? Got into a spitting contest once with the Chancellor of CU about the "value" of a winning football team. I pointed out that if CU won the national title it would not affect my degree in any way, but if the team and/or coach got caught in a scandal, it would decrease...

The NFL is the only professional athletic organization without a minor league ............ they let colleges do that for them. If the NFL had a minor league, then maybe the colleges and universities could get back to the concept of student athletes....

replied to Coach Mark Richt Retires
College vs Pros Coaching: One long term professional football coach said one of the best things about pro ball vs college ball is not having to manage player antics off the field and other juvenile behavior. Hmm, wonder if he sees it differently these days with all the pro football player antics,...

  • Not active since leaving The ATL but I used to be active in ALPAAS, the Atlanta Live Performing Arts Appreciation Society. Nothing like the live performing arts and so many venues there! Cheeta Three, Gold Club, etc.

  • Young Harris is a nice area and close to lots of GA and NC trout waters - think Fires Creek, the Nanny, Snowbird, Chattooga, etc. As for distance from home, our notion was to be about two to three hours. Far enough to feel like you really "got away" and not tempted to run home and mow the...

  • There is a wonderful ambiance about being on a river or creek. However,. "been there done that" as the saying goes. Some other things to consider:

    - Believe it or not, you can actually grow bored fishing the same water over and over again to the point where you named all the...

replied to Nutter rod and Reel
Mitchell 300 ............... Indeed a classic and damn near impossible to break. A little clean up and oiling is all it ever needs. I bought one at the Eagle Claw factory in Denver when I toured the factory and bought a spinning rod I used for many years. I take that old rod and reel out on occasion...
